Bell Creek Nature Preserve offers a local place to walk and watch birds at 10940 McMullen Road, south of Boyette Road in Riverview. Hillsborough County lists the 477-acre preserve as open from sunrise to sunset.
Marked trails cross several habitat types, including wooded areas and more open grassland. The county asks visitors to remain on marked routes and download the trail map before setting out. It also warns that trails can hold standing water during the rainy season.
Bring water and suitable shoes, and tell someone your plan. The preserve’s administrative office has different hours from the outdoor trails, operating from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The county’s page below includes the map and contact number, 813-672-7876.
